COALITION AMERICA AND TRIZETTO LAUNCH STRATEGIC
AFFILIATION DESIGNED TO SIMPLIFY HEALTHCARE CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION
- TriZettos ClaimsExchange Service Enables QicLink Customers
and TPAs Better Access to Discounts through Coalition America Networks
ATLANTA, Ga. - March 1, 2002
Coalition America, Inc. (CAI) a leader in healthcare cost-containment and preferred provider organization (PPO) network management services, today announced a new strategic affiliation with The TriZetto® Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:TZIX), that links CAI products and services with TriZettos ClaimsExchange Service. With Trizettos ClaimsExchange Service, its QicLink users may can connect electronically to Coalition America and significantly reduce the costs of administering and managing multiple primary PPO networks and claim-repricing vendors.
"CAI offers extensive network coverage and negotiation services which can typically deliver enhanced coverage and savings compared to other organizations," said Tony Bellomo, executive vice president of TriZettos HealtheWare software unit.
Third party administrators (TPAs) and other payors with multiple clients often spend excessive time and resources meeting various technological and administrative requirements needed to transmit and reprice healthcare claims. Some clients may require paper claims transmitted via hard copy fax; others insist on Internet access or electronic data interchange (EDI) or a combination of these methods.
TriZetto clients however can rely on ClaimsExchange to coordinate this process. Through this agreement with CAI, TriZetto provides access to more than 200 PPO networks nationwide, including select networks that reduce the cost of out-of-network claims. CAIs services also include the ability to negotiate any size claims whereas many companies institute minimum thresholds that limit the clients potential for savings.
"By partnering with TriZetto, CAI can offer its extensive primary networks and out of network claim repricing services to TriZetto clients, without having to connect electronically to clients individually," said Sean Smith, chief executive officer of Coalition America. "This system delivers more favorable in-network utilization and savings, reduced out-of-network claims costs, more streamlined internal administration, and enhanced services to both TriZetto and CAI clients."
